Ask Him to make you his child | What's Happening
Thank Him for dying for your sins. Ask Him to wash your sins away with His blood. Ask him for a new heart and a new spirit. Ask Him for the free gift of the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you. Thank Him for saving you. That's it. The rest is details. | You are becoming a child of God. As the Bible says, "But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." As Jesus explains: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born anew'. The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit". Mt 11.29: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". (We usually go to Jesus when we're at the end of our rope - even after we're saved there can be this pattern) "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart". Jesus is meek and humble - this is what he says we should learn from him. If you're not learning this you're not learning of him. Period. Jesus had humble beginnings -born in a stable. Baptised by John when John insisted he should be baptised by Jesus instead. And at the last supper, "Jesus loved them to the end". He didn't hand out doctrine till the end. He loved them and served them and washed their feet.

I really don't know. Usually trouble and confusion. But don't get disheartened. There'll be great times. God is now ultimately watching over your soul. He always has been, but now you're in even a better position. But the practicality of it is while smelling the roses watch out for the thorns which manifest themselves in many different ways... There are Christians who will argue with you and irritate you. But there are Christians who will refresh your heart and strengthen your spirit. Those are the ones you wish to be around! I would also say read some of your Bible. The gospel of John. The New Testament. Psalms. Funny though. The first Christians did not have a Bible. Even if they did, 98% of the people back then couldn't read anyway. These people did not have the same "resources" we have now but in ways seemed to do much better than we do now. Just a point to ponder. The absolutely best book for a new believer on this planet is "The Inward Journey" by Gene Edwards (published by Tyndale) I am not trying to gloss over anything as you may see. In a perfect world things would be different. but we do not live in a perfect world. But can we at least have some honesty please? There is a painting of Jesus holding a lantern and standing in front of a door ready to knock. Holman Hunt, the painter showed friends in 1853 what he had done before going public. While they were looking at it one friend reluctantly pointed out that he forgot to put a handle on the door. The artist quickly replied that this was not an oversight. This showed the truth that the door can only be opened from within.
